Robert L. Crooks, 64 year old Yukon resident and former Woodward resident, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at his home in Yukon. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Church of the Nazarene in Woodward with Reverend Mark Hollingsworth officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Robert Lynn Crooks was born on December 3, 1950 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Robert Lloyd and Betty Lou (Little) Crooks. He attended Woodward schools and graduated from Woodward High School. After his high school graduation, he graduated from United Electronics.
Robert met his sweetheart, Sharon Ayres when he was in the 9th grade. They were united in marriage on August 12, 1971 in Natchez, Mississippi. They made their home in Woodward before moving to Yukon five years ago. Robert worked for Thurmond McGlothlin Gas Measurement for 22 years and prior to that was also a self employed Carpenter.
He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Robert was a loving husband, father, and pawpaw who loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Sharon of the home in Yukon; one son, Jerod Crooks of Woodward; one daughter, Lauren Coffin and husband Kenny of Yukon; his mother Betty Crooks Leach and husband David of Moore; one brother, Steve Crooks and wife Linda of Norman; one sister, Kathy Wray and husband Barry of Yukon; two grandchildren, Jagger and Olivia; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert Lloyd Crooks and nephew Chris Wray.
