Wesley Dale Covalt, 58 year old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, May 15, 2019 near his home north of Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2019 at the Woodward Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Wesley Dale Covalt was born on February 1, 1961 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Roy Dale and Ilajoy (Collier) Covalt. Wesley grew up north of Woodward on the family farm and attended Woodward schools. He graduated from Woodward High School in 1979. Wesley worked on the farm with his brother and his dad.
He loved fishing, hunting, and rock hunting. Wesley enjoyed walking through the canyons and he loved spending time with his brother Wilbur. His favorite place to be was on the farm.
He was a member of the Woodward Church of Christ.
Wesley is survived by his parents, Dale and Ilajoy Covalt of Woodward; one brother Wilbur Gail Covalt of Woodward; two nephews, Scott Covalt, Steven Covalt; one great-niece, Avery Covalt; two great-nephews, Joseph Covalt and Eric Covalt; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
