Ilajoy Collier Covalt

Ilajoy Covalt, 83 year old Woodward resident, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at her home northeast of Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at the Woodward Church of Christ with David Heflin officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Ilajoy (Collier) Covalt was born on May 13, 1941 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Fremont Wilbur and Bertha Mae (Lehman) Collier. She grew up in Woodward and graduated from Woodward High School. Ilajoy was united in marriage to Roy Dale Covalt on May 29, 1960 at the Hillcrest Church of Christ. They were blessed with twin sons, Wilbur and Wesley. They made their home north of Woodward and have lived there since that time. Besides helping Dale on the farm and ranch, Ilajoy worked as a Court Reporter and worked at the Stock Exchange Bank as a Bookkeeper.

She was a member of the Woodward Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing, making blankets, and doing yard work with Dale.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Dale Covalt of the home; two grandchildren: Scott Covalt and wife Lennie, Steven Covalt; great-grandchildren: Eric, Joseph, Avery, Savannah, and Irene; other relatives and many friends.

Ilajoy was preceded in death by her parents and her twin sons, Wilbur Covalt and Wesley Covalt.
