Graveside: 2:00 PM Thursday, January 28th, 2016 - Elmwood Cemetery

June Cook, 86 year old Woodward resident died Monday, January 25, 2016 in the Shattuck Nursing Center. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 28, 2016 with Reverend Shane Rackley officiating in Elmwood Cemetery. The Billings Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

June Helene Cook was born on April 24, 1929 in Hurley, New Mexico the daughter of Raymond and Viola (Thomas) Rudd. She spent her childhood in Craig, CO. June graduated high school in 1946 from Dove Creek High School in Dove Creek, CO. She was united in marriage to Robert B. Cook on June 9, 1946 in Dove Creek where the couple made their first home. Robert enlisted in the United States Air Force and eventually was stationed in Sacramento, CA where June and Robert called home for the next 31 years. June worked for a CPA firm as office manager in the Sacramento area. When June and Robert retired in 1986 they moved to Woodward to be near family.

June’s retirement years were spent staying at home where she enjoyed working with arts and crafts, oil painting, and spending time with Robert and her many nieces and nephews.

June is survived by her husband Robert of the home, one sister, Jewel Montoya of CO; 14 nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jane Cook; Joy Brazilton; two brothers, Jim Rudd; and John Rudd.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to a charity of choice with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
