Alice Sanderson Collins

Alice Collins, 89 year old Woodward resident, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025 in Shattuck. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2025 at the Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Alice (Sanderson) Collins was born on March 7, 1936 in New Haven, Connecticut to Walter and Rosa (Bauer) Sanderson. Alice grew up in Meridian, Connecticut and graduated from Clayton High School in Clayton, New Mexico. She was united in marriage to Dr. Dewey Collins on November 8, 1954 in Davenport, Iowa. They were married in what was then known as the Smallest Chapel in the World and named, "A Little Bit O'Heaven". They made their first home in Davenport and in 1959 they moved to Woodward, where Dr. Collins opened his practice.

She worked as a Bookkeeper for many years and was the Office Manager at the Collins Clinic. She was a longtime member of the Woodward Mid-Day AMBUCS and her and Dewey were very involved with the club. Alice enjoyed playing Solitaire and most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna "Doni" Chandler and husband Jerry; grandchildren: Trey Collins and wife Betty, Deanna Caldwell, Karen Soliz, Crystal Chandler; great-grandchildren: Seth, Cassey, and Alison Collins, Kenzi Chandler, Sophia Soliz, Gabriel Caldwell; other relatives and friends.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dewey Collins, her son Dee Collins, and great-granddaughter Norma Soliz.
