Clarence Carter, 75 year old Sharon resident, died Sunday, February 28, 2016 at his home near Sharon. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eddie White officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Clarence Edward Carter was born on September 19, 1940 in Stuart, Oklahoma to Quiller and Annie (Vonina) Carter. Clarence grew up in Coalgate and attended Coalgate schools. In 1972, Clarence married Mildred “Marie” Nunley in Gainesville, Texas and they made their home in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Clarence worked in the oil field for Lindsay Well Service. He then began working in the Woodward area for Chriswell Service and Welltech until he started his own business, C&L Swab Service. He was involved in an accident in 1981 and he was forced to retire.
Spending time with Marie, family and friends is what he enjoyed most. He also enjoyed fishing and singing karaoke. He attended the First Baptist Church of Vici.
He is survived by his wife Marie Carter of the home; two sons, Quincy Carter and wife Natalie of Noble; Tristan Darrell Carter of Clarksville, Arkansas; a daughter, Anita Bogges of Clarksville Arkansas; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Imogene Honeycutt of Wellston, Clara Martin and husband J.R. of Foster; other family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carl Carter, Gilbert Carter, Delbert Carter, Willie Lee Carter, J.D. Carter and one sister, Hester Baggs.
