Wayne Campbell, 83 year old Woodward resident, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025 in Seiling. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2025 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Wayne Mathew Campbell was born on December 28, 1941 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Earl and Mabel (Jarman) Campbell. Wayne grew up in Woodward County and graduated from Sharon High School in 1960. He was united in marriage to Veetrice Pummel on December 10, 1960 at the Bible Baptist Church in Woodward, Oklahoma. They were blessed with three children, Wesley, Colby, and Stacey. The family made their home in Woodward before moving to the farm south of Woodward in 1969. They continued living on the farm until 2009 when they moved into town. Veetrice preceded him in death on December 20, 2012.
Wayne worked as a farmer and rancher on the farm south of Woodward. He also worked for Stricker Implement and Woodward County. He was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. Wayne was united in marriage to Nina Converse on February 22, 2014 at Wayne's house. They loved being together, traveling, camping, fishing, watching the Oklahoma City Thunder, and going to concerts.
He is survived by his wife Nina Campbell of the home; two sons: Wesley Campbell and wife Cecilia of Arnett, Colby Campbell and wife Becky of Woodward; daughter, Stacey Campbell and partner Ruth of Inverness, Florida; step-daughter Jennifer Stong and husband Donald of Woodward; grandchildren: Mathew Campbell and wife Kelly, Rachel Jones, Amber Campbell, Andrea Adams and husband Sid, Wyatt Campbell and wife Darian, Cody Campbell, step-grandchildren: Cade Stong, Cody Stong, Kyle Stong; six great-grandsons; five great-granddaughters; one great-great-granddaughter; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Veetrice, his parents, Earl and Mabel Campbell, sisters Norma Wier and Mary Lee Apperson, brother Allen Campbell and son Jeffery Wayne Converse.
