The funeral for Marvin C. Bunch, 72, will be 10 AM Friday in Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Don Tines will officiate. Burial will be 2 PM Friday in Elmwood Cemetery at Woodward.
He was born September 22, 1929, in Keenan – Fargo to William and Viola Griffith Bunch and died Tuesday, November 6, 2001, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.
He was raised on a farm in the Fargo area and at a young age moved to a farm near Woodward. He graduated from Woodward high school in 1949. He served in the Army, B Battery, 169 AAA Battalion in Germany during the Korean War as an automobile mechanic from July 1949 to December 1953. He was honorably discharged as a corporal. On April 18, 1954, he married Shirley Maureen Maulsby at Woodward. He and a Marcia Carol Jones were married August 1, 1989. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and for AT & T from May 23, 1949 to October 31, 1985. He moved to Enid in 1954. He was a life – member of Telephone Pioneers of America and the Communications Workers of America Local 607. After retiring from Southwestern Bell and AT & T, he owned a business, The Telephone Man of Enid.
He was a member of Davis Park Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Marcia; two daughters, Debra L. Foss and Shari R. Ross, both of Enid; one son, Bruce of Enid; three stepchildren, Lee lurvey, Tammy Barrett and Laura Vandiver of Missouri; one sister, Eileen J. Harmon of Summerville, South Carolina; five grandchildren; eight step – grandchildren; and to step – great – grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.
