John E. Bornholtz, 79 year old Woodward resident, passed from this life into his eternal life on Friday, November 15, 2019 in Oklahoma City and is now laying his crown at the feet of Jesus. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 22, 2019 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.
John Emil Bornholtz was born on April 25, 1940 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to George Bernard and Frances (Lechband) Bornholtz. John grew up in Hinton, Iowa and attended Hinton schools, graduating in 1958. John worked for Comfort Zone/Copper Bay Management until his retirement in 2019. He was united in marriage to Rhonda (Zody) Kelly on June 26, 1998 in Woodward, Oklahoma. They made their home in Woodward and have lived there since that time.
He was a member of the Sure Foundation Church of God and was very active in the church teaching adult Sunday School Class. John loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and attending all of their activities. He enjoyed attending numerous church activities, tending to his fur-babies, and doing puzzles. He was always on the go.
He is survived by his wife Rhonda Bornholtz of the home; two sons: Tim Kelly and wife Kristin, Bruce Hines and wife Larissa; four daughters: Wanda Mason and husband Ross, Lynn DeLong, Irene Lane, Karen Cox and husband Rickey; grandchildren: Ashley and Joshua Haven, Joseph and Laurie Cox, Steven Cox, Chelsea and Jeremy Lawrence, Jason Lane, Heather Lane, Brendon, Garrett, and Kirstyn Hines, Kaitlyn, Hunter, Kooper, and Kallan Kelly, and Nathan DeLong; great-grandchildren: Jordan, Kasen, Colton, Madison, Mason, and Maddox; one brother, Jerry Richmond and wife Pat; three sisters: Kathy Gross and husband Duane, Connie Heintz and husband David, and Ruth Bornholtz; other relatives and many friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Daniel Wayne Bornholtz, three grandchildren, Bobbi, Waylan, and Melinda Varner.
