Pat Betzen, 89 year old resident of Wichita, Kansas former longtime resident of Woodward, died Sunday, December 27, 2015 in Wichita. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 2, 2016 in St. Peters Catholic Church with Reverend Joe Arledge as officiant. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Helen Patricia Betzen was born on July 27, 1926 in Prescott, Arizona the daughter of Francis Marion and Lenora Alice (McGuire) Comstock. Pat spent her childhood in Prescott and attended school there. Pat was united in marriage to Richard J. “Dick” Betzen at St Peter Catholic Church in Woodward. They made their home on a farm south of Woodward where Dick and Pat farmed and ranched . To this union two children were born, Richard G. “Rick” and Jane Marie. While her children were young Pat was a stay at home Mom. She worked for a short time at the Bank of Woodward later in life. After their retirement Pat and Dick moved to a home in Woodward. Following the death of her husband she relocated to Wichita to be near her son.
Pat was member of St. Peters Catholic Church and a very active member throughout her life.
She enjoyed helping on the farm, neighborhood card games with chocolate cake and strawberry ice cream, quilting, writing poetry, but most of all loved her family and enjoyed time spent with them.
Pat is survived by her son Rick Betzen of Wichita, KS; one brother, Bill Comstock and wife Nancy of Prescott, AZ; several nieces, nephews other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, three sisters, and four brothers.
