Interment: 3:00 PM Tuesday, May 10th, 2016 - Elmwood Cemetery Mike Bell, , 65 year old Woodward resident, died Monday, May 2, 2016 in Oklahoma City after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in the Woodward Church of Christ with Reverend Ed Dowty officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Michael Dennis Bell was born on September 21, 1950 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Lyman Lee Troutner and Minnie Lee Payton. At a young age Mikes family relocated to California where he spent his childhood. Mike attended school in Indio, California and graduated from Coachella Valley High School in Thermal, California. Mike was united in marriage to Lynette Suzanne Smith on November 19, 1969 in Indio, California where the couple made their home. Mike and Lynette remained in California for several years where Mike worked for various companies including, Big Chief Drilling on the strip in Hunnington Beach, California; THUMS-Offshore Drilling in the Long Beach Islands. Mike and Lynette then moved to Woodward in 1977 where Mike began his career with Smitty’s Welding. Over the years Mike became an integral part of the business. He was forced to retire in 2015 due to ill health.
Mike was proud parent and very much a part of his children’s, grandchildren, as well as his entire families lives. He loved spending time with his family, barbequing or grilling out and playing with his grandkids. Mike also loved to play fantasy football.
Mike is survived by his wife Lynette of the home; son, Michael D. Bell, II and wife Jennifer of Woodward; two daughters, Kristie Brown and husband David of Edmond; Angie McDonald and Nick Cunningham of Woodward; nine grandchildren, Mercedeez Bell; Haeden Bell; Kaylyn Barnes; Kamrie Barnes; Aspenn Bell; Emmerson McDonald; Parker McDonald; Hagen Cunningham; and Michael Caine Cunningham; brother, Don Troutner and wife Theresa of Woodward; sister, Nancy Hensley of Woodland, CA; sister, Linda Phelps and husband Don of Salina, Kansas; two cousins, Jack Shriver and wife Janice of Sharon; Gayle Bivert and husband Ted of California; other family members and several friends.
He was preceded in death by parents; two sisters, Kathy Brandenburg; and Helen Troutner; and one brother, Shannon Troutner.
