Rita Beckmann, 72 year old Woodward resident, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2021 in the Billings Funeral Home with Reverend Donnetta Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Rita Shirlene (Latimer) Beckmann was born on November 3, 1948 in Elk City, Oklahoma to John Carl and Wilma Jean (Thrower) Latimer. Rita grew up in Woodward and graduated from Woodward High School. She worked for Western State Hospital for many years before her retirement.

She enjoyed reading, word searches, and her family, especially her niece Delania and nephew Jason. She loved Snickers, Rolo, her dog Duke and she really enjoyed her Cherry Limeades from Sonic.

She is survived by a special son, Jason Quimby and wife Farzaneh; special daughters Delania Avery and husband Danny; daughter, CJ Prince and husband Justin; brothers, John Latimer and wife Tammy, James Latimer and wife Sue; one sister Joann Baxter; nieces: Ashley Roby and husband Jeff,; nephews: David Latimer and wife Erin, Mark Latimer and wife Stephanie, Dylan Latimer and wife Ashley; great nieces and great nephews: Kurstyn Ciancio, Gracelyn Roby, Arabella Roby, Kadyn Ciancio, Wyatt Quimby, Julian Latimer, and Nathanel Latimer; other relatives and many friends.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Jean Latimer, brother James Latimer, grandparents, Elvie and Ada Thrower, special Aunt Birtie McGraw, and sister-in-law Tammy Latimer. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, cancer research with Billings Funeral Home accepting donations.
