Alva Beach, 92 year old Woodward resident, passed away, Monday October 31, 2022 in Oklahoma City. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, November 4, 2022 with Reverend George Hammans officiating. Interment with follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Alva Lyman Beach, Sr. was born March 6, 1930 to Glenn Allen and Grace Mildred (Boyce) Beach in Solano County, California. Alva grew up in California until he was inducted into the United States Navy in 1947. Alva was honorably discharged in 1951. He then resided in Richmond, Indiana. Alva was united into marriage to Barbara Ann Beagley on April 12, 1980 in Woodward, Oklahoma.
Alva worked at Natco as a Tool and Dye Maker, National Oil Well, and for Fluid Pac Pumps. Alva often enjoyed tinkering in his garage, horses, playing his guitar, fishing, and boating. The Lord Jesus, his ministry, singing, and his family is what he loved most.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Barbara Beach, his son Alva Beach, Jr., his parents Glenn and Grace Beach, his siblings Betty Maiden and Alan Beach, son-in-law Scott Craighead.
Alva is survived by one daughter Debra Matherly; two stepchildren Robert Burdette; Priscilla Jones and Chuck; grandchildren, Tracy Brewer and Micah, Travis Beach, Jesse Tyler Matherly and Jasmine, Cindy Carson and Greg, Cody Burdette, Candyce Kidd and Trenton, Michael Icke, Derek Jones, Jason Jones; adopted grandchild, Makala Cline; great grandchildren, Rion Garber, Cole Garber, Madison Allen, Kaydence Brewer, Devon Hutchinson, Levi Hutchinson, Jayden Carson, Trenton Kidd, Jr., Thannual Kidd, Talle Kidd; and many other relatives and friends.
