Mooreland – A graveside service for Neva A. Barnett, 94, of Longdale, will be 10 AM Saturday in Mooreland Cemetery. The Rev. David Hamilton will officiate. Arrangements are by Billings Funeral Home, Woodward.
She was born March 19, 1907, in Woodward to Charles and Gertrude Hildreth Elem and died Thursday, February 14, 2002, in Fairview Hospital.
She was raised in Woodward and graduated from Woodward high school. She married George Barnett December 22, 1946, in Liberal, Kansas. They made their home in Canadian, Texas, before moving to Springfield, Colorado, to farm. In the late 1950s, the family moved to Mooreland, where she operated a Café. They moved to Enid where she worked as a dietitian at Glenwood elementary. After their retirement in 1978, they moved to Longdale. He died in 1980.
Surviving are one son, Michael Barnett of Longdale; one sister, Myrtie Swartz of Las Cruces, New Mexico; three grandchildren; and one great – grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one son, three brothers and one sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Mooreland First Christian Church.
