Bernice Anita (Ward) Ball was born on January 16, 1925 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Bernie Ewing and Lela Celesta (Bell) Ward. She grew up in the Woodward area and graduated from Woodward High School. On July 29, 1943 she married the love of her life Wilfred Leonard Ball in Forrest County, Mississippi. The couple then moved to Woodward, Oklahoma, Grandfield, Oklahoma, Waynoka, Oklahoma, Cherokee, Oklahoma, and Ponca City, Oklahoma. They were blessed with three children, Randell Dean, Leonard Ray, and Lynn Ann.
Bernice worked and owned Balls Upholstery. She was know as the glue gun master. Bernice enjoyed making the best bread in town and her world renowned peanut brittle. She also enjoyed dobbing bingo, "0-66 clickety-click" and being creative with seasonal handy-crafts.
She is survived by her son, Leonard Ray Ball and wife Margaret; daughter, Lynn Ann Britton; grandchildren, Eric Trey Smith and wife Karen, Daaron R. Ball and wife Rhonda, Daamon C. Ball, Tammie Lester, Tressie Lowe and husband Rob, Micah Ray Ball and wife Ashley; and numerous great granchildren.
Bernice is preceded in death by her parents, step mother, Minnie Fike; husband, Wilfred Ball; son Randell Dean Ball; brother, Hershel Ward; sister, Martha Adella (Ward, Barnett) Stanley, Elena Joan (Ward) Ruttman.
She cherished all the friendships she had throughout her long life, most of those who have preceded her in death. Shes smiling down on her guardian angels of recent years who provided enjoyment and comfort; niece, Shelly (Ruttman, Rowley) Guerra, Karla Taylor, Jeannie Stinson, Connie Wreath, and Jerry Tucks.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Cancer research with Billings Funeral Home accepting donations.
