Woodward, Okla. — Robert E. "Bob" Baird, Jr. 75 year old Woodward resident, died Monday, September 24, 2012 in the Woodward Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2012 in the First Assembly of God with the Reverend Lonnie Rutherford and the Reverend Donnetta Hunter officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Robert Eugene Baird Jr. was born August 14, 1937 in Woodward; he was the son of Robert Eugene Baird Sr. and Dorothy Lorene (Rinner) Baird. He grew up south of Woodward and graduated from Sharon High School in 1955. On April 21, 1959, Bob was united in marriage to Beverly Gene Hohweiler in Fargo. They made their home in Woodward. In l97l Bob and Beverly moved to the country and built their own home. Bob worked as a salesman for Triple F Feeds and started his own business, R. B. Construction in 1975 selling and building Butler Buildings and Grain Bins.

From 1956 until 1965 Bob was in the Army Reserves attaining the rank of Sergeant First Class. He had received several medals for markmanship.

Bob was a member of the Woodward First Assembly of God Church and was the Men's Fellowship President for many years. During that time, he went on many mission trips to Mexico building churches. He started Northwest Gospel Music in 2001. Bob enjoyed gold prospecting, fishing and hunting. His grandchildren gave him so much joy. He also enjoyed his cattle, honeybees and singing in trio with his girls. Bob and Beverly had currently made their home south of Woodward.

He is survived by his wife Beverly of the home; one son Kenton Duane Baird of Woodward; two daughters, Marla Jean Johnson and husband Stan; Rebecca Sue Watson and husband Michael all of Woodward; two brothers, Harvey Baird and wife Beth; Wesley Baird and wife Cindy all of Woodward; two sisters, Xyla Hathaway and husband Floyd of Sharon; Evelyn Ellington and husband Sam of Cardwell, Missouri; six grandchildren, Lindsay Nicole Everett and husband Chad; Karen Mechell Gonzales and husband Steven; Kyle Robert Thomas Johnson; Kristopher Michael Watson; two great grandchildren, Bryant Liegh Gonzales and Aubrey Nicole Everett.
