Ruth Ann (Dorr) Anding, 76 year old resident of Arnett, passed from this life on February 21, 2018. She was born on October 26, 1941 in Assumption, IL to Kenneth R Dorr and Eleanor Hebert Dorr. She attended and graduated from Assumption Public Schools, and she would later attend and graduate from the business school in Shelbyville, IL. While attending school Ruth was a member of 4H.
Ruth moved to Laverne, OK in 1963 where she managed the Bowling Alley and Café. She later moved again in 1967 to Arnett, OK where she worked at the Circle C Café. It was at Circle C where Ruth would meet her future husband, and in July 1969, Ruth was married to LeRoy Irwin Anding. To this union was blessed a son, Grant Anding, and she welcomed Roy Lee Anding, and Jack Anding into her life. The family lived in Arnett, OK.
In 1976, Ruth began working at Arnett Public Schools, but it would be in the 1980s that Ruth would find the profession that most people know her for as she was elected to be the City Clerk of Arnett.
She enjoyed her crafts and ceramics, as well as knitting, but she especially loved to read. Yet, it was her family and faith that she loved most of all. Ruth was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and St. Peters Catholic Church Choir.
In recent years, Ruth moved to the Shattuck Nursing Home, where she found herself surrounded by many friends, old and new. She quickly became the president of the Shattuck Nursing Home Residence Council, where she served honorably. During her final moments, Ruth was surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy Anding; parents Kenneth and Eleanor Dorr; brother Kenny Dorr; sisters Donna Dorr and Bobbie Dorr; niece Pamela Allred; grand-niece Dallas Allred; brother-in-law Mick Greenan, nephew Roger Anderson, brother-in-law Jim Beam, and sister-in-law Oleta Beam.
