Charles Lester Adams

Charles Adams, 71 year old Enid resident, passed away Friday February 5, 2021 in Enid. A memorial service will be held on Friday February 26, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Elmwood Cemetery with Reverend Jason Dirks officiating.

Charles Lester Adams was born on June 27, 1949 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Charles George and Della Mae (Ridley) Adams, He grew up in the Pawnee area and attended Diamond Laird Country School then later graduated from Pawnee High School. Charles was united in marriage to Sue Ann Wilson on March 25, 1973 in Fairfax, Oklahoma. The couple made their first home in Fairfax and later moved to Sedan, Kansas, Laverne, Oklahoma, before settling in Woodward. To this union the couple was blessed with three sons, Mike, Jason, and Coopy. After Sue passed, Charles was united in marriage to Patty Elaine Schoffner on May 22, 2015. The couple made their home in Woodward before moving to Enid.

Charles worked as a salesman for Cudd Energy Services. He also worked as a truck driver, heavy equipment operator, Koch Industries, and OneOk. Charles loved Gunsmoke, Tom Horn, Outlaw Josie Wales, and John Wayne. He also enjoyed shooting guns and buying guns. He was a lifetime member of the NRA.

Charles is survived by his wife, Patty Adams of the home; sons, Mike Adams, and wife Janie of Elk City, Jason Adams and wife Lisa of Sharon, Coopy Adams and wife Kelli of Mooreland; brother, Bud Adams and wife Phyllis of Altus; sister, Georganna Childress and husband Bob of Edmond, Sandra Reigles and husband Jon, Pinky Adams Hayes; grandchildren, Dylan Adams of Elk City, Dakotah Adams of El Reno, Brandolynne Adams of El Reno, Makinley Raulston of Elk City, Molly Adams of Sharon, Kloe Reese Adams of Sharon, Hunter Adams of Mooreland, and Hutch Adams of Mooreland; one great granddaughter, Avery Sue Adams of Elk City; Pattys children, Brande Morgan and husband Jeff of Waxahachie, Texas, Pamela Smith and husband Seneca of Jenks, Oklahoma, Jonathan Lebada and wife Rachel of Enid, Oklahoma, Matthew Lebeda and wife Ami of Caldwell, Kansas; Pattys grandchildren, Jakob Morgan, and Cori Morgan of Waxahachie, Texas, Kaya Smith, Jonas Smith, and Makenna Smith of Jenks, Oklahoma, Celecity Lebeda, Kinzley Lebada, Cassidy Lebeda, and Leo Lebeda of Enid, Adebel Lebeda, Alie Lebeda, and Lance Lebeda of Caldwell, Kansas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Sue Adams; sisters, Janette and Lanette; nephew, Jonathan Hayes; and several aunts, uncles, and other family members.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the National Rifle Association with the funeral home accepting contributions.
