Sonya Griffith; daughter of Glenn and Marie (Holloway) Wyckoff, was born January 18, 1937 at the family ranch East of Mutual in Woodward County Oklahoma. She departed this life on Saturday October 13, 2018, in her home. Sonya was 81 years old.
Sonya was raised near Mutual on the family ranch. She started her education at Pearl Valley country school and graduated from Mutual in 1955. She was united in marriage to Harold Boyd Griffith, January 21, 1956 in the Mutual United Methodist Church. Boyd and Sonya shared 62 years of marriage. They made their home Northeast of Mutual where they raised 3 children: Mike, Wade, and Gina.
Sonya was a homemaker, worked on the family farm, and also worked for many years and retired from the Stock Exchange Bank. She was a faithful member of the Mutual United Methodist Church where she taught many Sunday School classes and was active in the U.M.W. organization.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Boyd Griffith, two sons, Michael Griffith and wife Renae of Grove, Ok, Robert Griffith and Rich Kenney of Southlake, TX, and Gina Latta and her husband Brian of Wichita KS. Five grandsons, Jon and wife Abbey of Joplin, MO, Scott Griffith of Grove, OK, Sean Phillips of Wichita, KS, Blake Phillips of Arnett, OK, and Brian Griffith of Grove, OK. She was blessed with three great grandsons Nolan, Calvin, and Maddox. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Sonya was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Marie Wyckoff, and her brother Renzie Wyckoff.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Mutual, OK with Pastor Sharon Cochran officiating.
Memorials can be made to the Dunlap Cemetery with Redinger Funeral Home (Box 236, Seiling, OK 73663) serving as custodian of the funds.
