Gayla D. Jackson, 53 year old Woodward resident, died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in the Woodward Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ed Dowty officiating. Interment will be in the Curtis Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Gayla Dawn Jackson was born on July 20, 1961 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Carl Keith and Ruth Nellie (Gonser) Jackson. Gayla started school in Mooreland and graduated from Woodward High School in 1979. She worked for OARC for several years and Independent Opportunities until her health forced her to retire. Gayla had recently traveled to Colorado to fulfill a lifelong dream.
Gayla enjoyed spending time with family and friends and she always enjoyed watching football games and wrestling.
She is survived by her parents, Carl and Ruth Jackson of Woodward; a special friend, J.C. Weir of Woodward; two brothers, John Jackson of Woodward; Brian Jackson of Woodward; one sister, Carla Jackson of Woodward; nieces and nephews, Misty and Daniel Mills, Latisha Jackson, Ray Lee Jackson, Tia Jackson, Lora Jackson, Grayson Brown, Johnathon Jackson, Levi Jackson, Brock Burton; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
