Corey Eugene WHITNEY

Waynoka Cemetery

Graveside service for Corey Eugene Whitney will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Waynoka Municipal Cemetery in Waynoka, with Tylor McGolden officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka.

Corey Eugene Whitney, son of Michael Eugene Whitney and Stacy Michelle Sartor, was born on July 13, 1989, in Cleburne, Texas, and passed away unexpectedly in an accident on September 28, 2023, in Panola County, Texas, at the age of 34 years, 2 months and 15 days.

He was an avid outdoors man and loved hunting, fishing, camping and anything that involved being outdoors. Corey was happiest when he was with his family and friends. He was very loyal and dedicated to both and they meant everything to him. He was a very hardworking provider for his family with "old school values" that he instilled in everyone he met. Corey also enjoyed his "relaxation time," when he could fit it in. He was a self-taught musician who loved music and always said "I want to be as good as pawpaw some day!" Corey loved his Annie's home cooking and was always at peace when he was sitting in her kitchen waiting on her to prepare a meal and he would say "you won't ever starve at Annie's house."

Corey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Ruth Cole; and his brother, Tanner Ryan.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Elizabeth Ibarra Whitney of Kansas; son, Wyatt Whitney of Kansas; daughter, Emma Rose Whitney of Kansas; father, Michael Eugene and his wife, Connie Jean Whitney, of Texas; mother, Stacy Michelle Sartor of Texas; brother, Dalton Lowell Whitney and wife, Meagon, of Texas; cousin "brother," Justin Wade and wife, Kandice Whitney, of Oklahoma; grandparents, Lowell Whitney and wife, LaDonna Whitney, of Oklahoma; many many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who were all family as far as Corey felt in his heart.

Corey will forever be missed and remembered by those that knew him. This world was blessed and is a better place by having known him. "We will grow old together."

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home for his children's education.

Remembrance may be shared with the family at http://www.marshallfuneralhomes.com.
