January 8, 2008 Enid News and EagleThe funeral for Raymond Clyde Phillips, 83, of Waynoka,
will be 2 p.m. today at Waynoka Church of God. Pastor John Brint will
officiate. Burial will be in Waynoka Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements
are by Marshall Funeral Home, Waynoka LLC.
He was born Dec. 31, 1924, in Waynoka to Frank and Edith
Duncan Phillips and died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at Integris Bass
Baptist Health Center.
He attended Waynoka schools. At age 17, he enlisted in
the Navy where he served two years and nine months until his medical
discharge.
He married LaEtta Rose Morris June 28, 1952, in Medicine
Lodge, Kan., where he worked for the railroad, 14 years for National
Gypsum Co., and as a custodian at Northwestern Oklahoma State
University. He returned to Waynoka in 1974 and was a member of Waynoka
Church of God.
Surviving are his wife, LaEtta, of Waynoka; two sons,
Delbert Phillips of St. Louis, Mo., and Verl Phillips of Waynoka; one
daughter, Victoria Rose Borio of Owasso; three grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Waynoka
Church of God.
