Woodward, Okla. — John Mullins, 77 year old Woodward
resident, went to Heaven on March 11, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Crown
Heights Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Bearden officiating. Interment
will follow in the Waynoka Municipal Cemetery under the direction of the
Billings Funeral Home.
John Edward Mullins was born on December 4, 1935 in Corley, Oklahoma to
George Washington and Lorene Mae (Morris) Mullins. John attended school in
Pauls Valley and graduated from Pauls Valley High School with the class of
1955. On January 28, 1959 he was united in marriage to Glenda Yvonne Maggard.
John worked in the oilfield from high school until he retired as District
Manager from Johnston-Schlumberger working several years as a Oilfield
Salesman, before retiring for good.
John is survived by his wife Glenda, and two sons, W. Dirk Mullins,
daughter-in-law, Laura Freeman, Chris E. Mullins and wife Dena J. Anderson;
grandchildren, Chris J. Mullins, Summer M. Mullins Denten and husband Drew
T. Denten, Stefan D. Mullins, Kaylie D. Mullins, Ashley R. Anderson, and
Eric D. Anderson; great grandchildren, Haize K. and Kashin C. Denten,
Kaydence R., Gracelynn P. and Peyton E. Anderson. John had no siblings so he
welcomed Glenda’s two sisters and two brothers and their spouses; Pauline
and Charles Hogue, Darlene and L.D. Smith, Keith and Carol Maggard and Rick
and Mary Maggard.
John was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lorene Mullins,
in-laws, Paul and Clarice Maggard, brothers-in-law, Kieth Maggard and L.D.
Smith and uncle Kenneth P. Morris.
