Violet Noreen Meek, 88, Waynoka
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy, on Dec. 17, 1988; one son, Leroy Dale Meek; four brothers, Guy, Willard, Thomas and Tad Thornhill; and one sister, Helen Koch.
Violet is survived by three sons, Terry Gale Meek and his wife, Judy, of Waynoka, Michael Gene Meek and his wife, LeeAnn, of Waynoka, Patrick Harvey Meek and his wife, Jeanita, of Medford; and two daughters, Sonya Sue Cummins of Waynoka and Sandra Jean Dickens and her husband, Lyle, of LaSalle, Colo.
She is also survived by 18 grandchildren: Patrick Meek and his wife, Joan, of Mansfield, Texas; Tim Meek and his wife, Deana, of Stillwater; Shawn Meek of Waynoka; David Meek and his wife, Amy of Enid; Cary Dickens and his wife, Suzi, of LaPorte, Colo.; Don Cummins of Lafayette, La., Amy Anderson and her husband, Cody, of Meno; Amanda Percival and her husband, Travis, of Alva; Jennifer Meek of Waynoka; Michelle Pettus and her husband, Mark, of Enid; Carol Dickens of Sumter, S.C.; Caren Karns and her husband, Mark, of LaSalle, Colo.; Rob Meek and his wife, Kathy, of Tampa, Fla.; Randy Meek and his wife, Cindy, of Tampa, Fla.; John Darden and his wife, Melanie of Denver, Colo.; Neta Copenhaver and her husband, John, of Waynoka; John Stine and his wife, Toni, of Mooreland ; and Debbie Robertson and her husband, Don, of St. George, Kan.; 29 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. May 3 at the Elm and Murrow Church of Christ in Waynoka with Mike Marsalis officiating. Interment will be in the Waynoka Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for cancer research.
