Verla Dean Jones, daughter of the late Lewis O. and Martha (Brown) Howell, was born August 18, 1922, in Woods County, Oklahoma, and passed away September 2, 2012, at her home in Waynoka, Oklahoma, at the age of 90 years and 15 days.

She was cremated at her request and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Verla Dean attended the Pleasant View School. In May, 1936, she was united in marriage to Teddy S. Jones. They lived in Waynoka all of their lives. She really enjoyed sewing and raising her children.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, in 1990; and her sister, Leola McGee.

Verla Dean is survived by two children, Martha Woolley of Waynoka, and Ted Jones and wife, Mary, of Alva, 7 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for cancer research.
