Funeral services for Richard Carl Herbst will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2007, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. David Shaw officiating. Interment will be in the Waynoka Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka, LLC.

Richard Carl Herbst, son of the late Carl John Jacob and Vivian (Nauerth) Herbst, was born February 3, 1928, east of Waynoka in Woods County, Oklahoma, and passed away August 27, 2007, in Enid.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Melvin Herbst.

Richard is survived by his wife, Faye, of Waynoka; one son, John Herbst of Avard; one daughter, Donna Schmidt and her husband, Jim, of Avard; three sisters, Effa Lou Clarke of Amarillo, Texas, Cleota McCraw of Weatherford, Oklahoma, and Rachel Wheeler and her husband, Milford, of Woodward, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Daniel Schmidt and Douglas Schmidt, both of Waynoka, Oklahoma; other relatives and many friends.
