The Graveside services celebrating the life of Mr. Duane Lynn Fuqua, 58, of Waynoka will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday April 2, 2016 in the Waynoka Cemetery with Rev. Charles Newton officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Air Force Silver Talen Honor Guard.

Duane Lynn Fuqua was born May 1,1957 in Waynoka, Oklahoma to Raymond and Jean (Ford) Fuqua and passed away March 19, 2016 from complications of a heart attack in Carmichael, California. He was 58 years old. Duane's residence was Olympia, Washington, but his job sent him temporarily to the Sacramento area to modify military helicopters there.

As the eldest son of an Air Force member, Duane lived in several states and Germany. He participated in The Boy Scouts of America troop 104. He earned the Eagle Scout rank upon completion of a community service project in Neubruecke, Germany.

Upon graduation of high school in Germany, Duane joined the us Air Force. As an aircraft electrician and environmental. systems specialist in the Air Force Duane maintained, repaired, and modified airplanes and helicopters. His final duty assignment before retirement was the 952 AGS at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma where he maintained the E-3A Airborne and Warning and Control Surveillance (A WACS) aircraft. While serving at Tinker Duane was deployed to Operation Desert Shield/Storm. Some of his military honors include the Kuwait Liberation Medal and AF Outstanding Unit Valor.

Duane was currently employed by Pacific Architect and Engineers (PAE) at Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington as an aircraft mechanic. He had travelled extensively, but always considered Oklahoma as his home. Duane loved watching the OU Sooners football and basketball teams play.

Duane is survived by his wife of 23 years, Novella Wickham, of Olympia, Washington, originally from Norman, Oklahoma; his daughter, Brynn Fuqua of Olympia, Washington; his father Raymond Fuqua of Enid, Oklahoma; a brother, David Fuqua, sister in law Robin Fuqua of Gracemont, Oklahoma; a brother; Darryl Fuqua of Everett, Washington; nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Duane is preceded in death by his mother, Jean (Ford) Fuqua formally of Enid, Oklahoma; his maternal grandmother, maternal grandfather, paternal grandmother, paternal grandfather, uncle Keith.
