Waynoka Cemetery


Waynoka – the funeral for Carrie Jane Barker, 99, will be 10 AM Tuesday in Elm and Murrow Church of Christ. Ray Hull will officiate. Burial will be in Waynoka Cemetery. Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home.

She was born April 22, 1902, to Frank James and Minnie Sue Murrow Camp and died Saturday, February 2, 2002, at Waynoka Nursing Home.

She attended Walnut Grove elementary school and Northwestern State in Alva. She taught in elementary schools. On March 12, 1921, she married Jess Ray Barker at Enid. They lived east of Waynoka. She moved into town in 1976. She was a member of Elm and Murrow Church of Christ.

Surviving are two sons, James of Waynoka and John of Enid; one daughter, Jeroldine Sue Barnett of Leander, Texas; two sisters, Goldie Bay of Clovis, New Mexico, and Verda Lee Haltom of Vinita; 14 grandchildren; 26 great – grandchildren; and 16 great – great – grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband on September 5, 1966, one daughter, two brothers and two sisters.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Waynoka Nursing Home.
