Robert Bails, age 79, went to be with his Lord, Wednesday, February 2, 2022, surrounded by his family in his home in Clovis, New Mexico.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the Waynoka Municipal Cemetery in Waynoka, Oklahoma. Honorary Pallbearers include, Jerry Gooch, Don "Duck" McGolden, Max Sims, Don Rawson, Eddie Hibbs, Keith Sims and Rex Osborn.
Robert was born, February 10, 1942, to Garnett and Leota (Rawson) Bails in Alva, Oklahoma. He married Pattie Bails April 28, 1961, in Alva. They moved to Clovis, New Mexico, in January of 1973 from Wellington, Kansas.
Robert was a railroad engineer and retired with the railroad on April 25, 2002. He enjoyed shooting guns, woodworking and fishing. His family will always remember him for his faithfulness in God.
Survivors include two children; a daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" (Michael) Carthel of Clovis, New Mexico; a son, Tony (Vicky) Bails of Amarillo, Texas; six grandchildren, Shyla (Grant) Wood (of Lubbock, Texas), Bradi (Tucker) Morgan (of Clovis, New Mexico), Tarren Bails (of Amarillo, Texas), Trace Bails (of Amarillo, Texas), Reagan Carthel (of Clovis, New Mexico), and Alyssa Hetzler (of Amarillo, Texas), and three great-grandchildren: Braylan, and Eva Morgan and Kysen Wood.
He was preceded in death by his wife Pattie Sue Gooch Bails, his parents, Garnett and Leota; two brothers, Wayne, and Leland.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Baptist Children's Home, 2200 S. Avenue I, Portales, NM, 88130.
