November 12, 1926 - March 25, 2021

Graveside services for Donovan Albert Newman, 94 of Enid will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021 at Union Center Cemetery in Dacoma, OK. Pastor Steve Williams will officiate. Arrangements are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the United States Army.

Donovan was born on November 12, 1926 in Okeene, OK, the son of Roscoe Merle and Esther (Hall) Newman, and passed away on March 25, 2021 at his home.

He was raised in Okeene, later moving to Blackwell. Donovan worked at the flour mill in Blackwell, later traveling around prior to moving to Enid where he worked for Champlain Refinery. Donovan retired from Champlain after 36 years. Donovan served in the United States Army. He married Evelyn Marcella Briggs in Dacoma on August 10, 1991. Prior to that, Donovan was married to Edna Watson. She preceded him in passing in 1981. Donovan was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; step-children: Jimmy Newman, Joyce Newman and Robbie Newman; grandchildren: Joe Don Newman, Scott Newman, Kyle Newman, Rob Ogle, Loreal Montague Stroud, Stacey Newman, Brittney Federko, Dylan Newman, Quin Newman, Sophie Newman, Jude Newman, Jo Lynn Jones, Amanda White, Chandra Cissell, Hana Kimberling, Abbie Newman and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to his first wife, Donovan was preceded in passing by his parents, three brothers, Harold, James, Lloyd and Raymond Newman; four sisters, Barbara Spears, Katherine Rohrs, Evelyn Morris and Carolyn McGrew; children: Don Lynn Newman and Bonnie Jo Newman; step-children: Dennis Newman and Donna (Newman) White.
