Dacoma – services for Zula M. Gottsch, 88, will be at 2 PM Sunday, at the Wharton Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend John Wilson, a retired minister, officiating. She died Friday morning at a Carmen nursing home.
Burial will be at the Union Center Cemetery north of Dacoma.
She was born November 29, 1897 on a farm 2 miles south of Hopeton to Mary Agnes and Joseph William Porter. Gottsch attended school there and helped her parents on the farm.
Gottsch was married to Robert Townsend on December 25, 1915. Following their marriage they lived in Dacoma. In 1935, she owned and operated a restaurant in Hopeton, until 1940.
On August 5, 1940, she married Ernest C. Gottsch in Enid. They farmed in the Dacoma area until October, 1983.
Survivors include her husband Ernest, of the home; a son, Robert Townsend, Irving, Texas; a brother, Guy E. Porter, San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren, and four great – grandchildren.

Alva – The funeral for Ernest "Buzz" Gottsch, 85, who died Saturday at an Alva hospital, will be at 2 PM Monday at the Wharton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery northwest of Dacoma.
He was born January 25, 1902, southwest of Dacoma in the Pleasant View community. He attended the OK rural grade school and helped his father farm. After he was grown, he farmed and ranched in the Dacoma area.
On August 5, 1940, he was married to Zula Margaret Townsend at Enid. She died in 1986. He also was preceded in death by a step son, a granddaughter, a great – granddaughter, three sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include a step son, Robert Townsend of Irving, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Everett (Velma) Schrimsher of Jet; five grandchildren and four great – grandchildren.
