The funeral for Gladys Winifred Smith, 94, of Dacoma, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Dacoma Church of God. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wharton Funeral Chapel of Alva.
She was born Jan. 18, 1911, south of Dacoma, to James Lewis and Martha Almeda Murrow Morse and died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at Share Medical Center Convalescent Home in Alva.
She was raised in Dacoma, attending Pleasant View grade school and graduating from Dacoma High School in 1930. She married Fred O. "Dick" Smith July 1, 1934, in Dacoma. They lived in Alva and later moved to Wichita, Kan. They later returned to Dacoma to raise cattle and wheat. She was an active member of Dacoma Church of God.
Surviving are one son, J.D. Smith of Newkirk; two daughters, JaDeanna Farris of Alva and Gala Pope of Atlanta; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and a great-grandson.
