Mary M. Monett was born to James Henderson, and Esther Henderson, March 14, 1875, in Narka, Kansas. She passed away February 2, 1957 at the age of 81 years, 10 months and 18 days in Cherokee, Oklahoma. Mary was married April 10, 1894 to William A. Monettt who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Monett as the mother of four children, and the faithful companion to her husband, lived a long and fruitful life.
Loved ones remaining to remember her include her son, James of Taos, New Mexico; three daughters: Mrs. Emma Frey of Waynoka, Mrs. Hattie Mahnkin of Jet and Mrs. Gladys Pflieder of Alva. There are 12 grandchildren and 12 great – grandchildren. One brother, R. E. Henderson of Phillipsburg, Kansas, and a great host of friends.
She has been a member of the Aline Methodist Church for many years. Her devotion to her family, to her friends and to her God will long bless her memory.

Mrs. Mary A. Monett, 81, died Saturday, February 2, in Cherokee following an illness of several years.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 PM in the Aline Methodist Church with Rev. A. Moore officiating. Burial was in a cemetery north of Waynoka under direction of the Wentworth Mortuary.
Mrs. Monett and her late husband owned a farm southwest of here. When they retired they bought property here. She was a resident of Aline and community about 28 years.
