A graveside service for Eddie Stanley Lyon, 77, of Waynoka, will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Hill Cemetery. The Rev. John Brint will officiate. Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home, Waynoka LLC.
He was born Feb. 20, 1930, on a farm south of Avard to Vern Stanley and Mildred Austin Lyon and died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at Waynoka Nursing Center.
He graduated from Avard High School and enlisted in the Marine Corps, serving from 1950 to 1953. He became a journeyman meat cutter at King Soopers in Denver where he was promoted to supervisor. Follow-ing his retirement in 1981, he moved to Waynoka.
Surviving are one son, Eddie “Skip” Lyon of Washington; four daughters, Carrie Miller, Vona Lyon and Becky Crandall, all of Denver, and Mary Kathleen Lyon of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters, LaVern Cox and Wanna Bradford, both of Dalhart, Texas, and Jean Kinikin of Dumas, Texas; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, three brothers and a granddaughter.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for epilepsy or multiple sclerosis research.
