Waynoka – services for Clifford R. Bixler, 87, will be at 2 PM Saturday in the Avard Christian Church with the Reverend Eldon Powers officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Hill Cemetery in Waynoka under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Born in Woods County January 26, 1917, he died Wednesday in an Oklahoma City hospital.

On September 3, 1941, he married Germaine Flury at Alva. They lived on a farm northwest of Waynoka where Bixler had lived since the age of four.

He was a member of the Avard Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Germaine, of the home; one son, Doctor Terry J. Bixler, Waynoka; one daughter, Judith Faye, Vallejo, California; one brother, Dean Bixler, Waynoka; two sisters, Blanche Gadberry and Leona Fritsch, Waynoka; one granddaughter.

The casket will remain closed after the service.

Memorials may be made to the Waynoka Ambulance Service or the charity of one's choice.

WAYNOKA - The funeral for Arizona Germaine Bixler, 78, will be at 10 am Monday at the Avard Christian Church with the Rev. Eldon Powers officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Marshall Funeral Home.

She was born May 21, 1919 at Avard to Joe and Temple Gourley Flury and died Friday, July 11, 1997 in the Okeene Hospital.

She lived her entire life in this area and on Sept. 3, 1941, she married Clifford R. Bixler in Alva. She was a member of the Avard Christian Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a member of the S.E.B. Club and the Dorcas Circle of the Christian Church.

She is survived by her son, Terry Bixler; one daughter, Judith Faye of Vallejo,Calif.; two brothers William H. Flury of Albuquerque N.M. and Joe D. Flury of Guthrie; two sisters, Justine Lancaster of Alva and Betty Stewart of Avard; one granddaughter and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death bu her husband.

Waynoka Woman Killed
by the Associated Press -- 11 July 1997

Authorities say an elderly woman died Friday when the car she was driving collided with another vehicle on Oklahoma 51 in Blaine County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Arizona Germaine Bixler , 78, died at the scene of the accident that occurred about 1 p.m.

A passenger in Bixler's car was hospitalized in fair condition while two people in the second car were treated with minor injuries, the patrol said.
