Harold Fredrick William Nobis, 83, son of Carolena Marie (Wyssmann) and Johan Heinrich Wilhelm Nobis, was born on Jan. 26, 1922, near Fairmont, Okla. He passed away at the Enid St. Mary's Regional Medical Center on Sept. 16, 2005.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Bernice Fischaber , three brothers, Elmer, Marvin and Leonard, two brothers-in-law, Harold Bohlman and Glenn Loesch.

Harold is survived by his wife, Edna of the home; two daughters and their husbands, Barbara and Scott Schlapkohl of O'Fallon, Ill., and Carolyn and Bill Koslan of Giddings, Texas; a son and his wife, Roger and Leigh Anne of Alva; five grandchildren, Thomas Schlapkohl of O'Fallon, Lori Nobis of Oklahoma City, Steve Nobis of Enid, Eric Koslan of College Station, Texas, and Brian Koslan and his wife Melissa of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Esther Loesch of Fairmont and Arlene and her husband Arnold ZumMallen of Okarche; three brothers and their wives, Raymond and Eula Mae of Waukomis, Donald and Helen and Roland and Patsy all of Enid; three sisters-in-law, Erna Bohlman of Okarche, Pat Nobis of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Geneva Nobis of Enid; a brother-in-law, and his wife, Kenneth and Gladys Fischaber of Enid; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Sept. 19 at the Alva Zion Lutheran Church with Reverend Mark Bersche, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Alva Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Wharton Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Contributions may be made in his memory to the Alva Zion Lutheran Church.

The funeral for Edna Martha Nobis, 80, of Alva, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Alva Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Mark Bersche will officiate. Burial will be in Alva Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wharton Funeral Chapel, Alva.

She was born Aug. 7, 1925, near Alva, to William Fredrick and Martha Anna Hedwig Lohmann Dubben and died Monday, April 10, 2006, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

She attended Zion Lutheran School. She married Harold F. Nobis Oct. 23, 1949, in Alva. They made their home south of Alva. He died Sept. 16, 2005.

She was a member of Alva Zion Lutheran Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Schlapkohl of Godfrey, Ill., and Carolyn Koslan of Giddings, Texas; one son, Roger of Alva; one sister, Erna Bohlman of Okarche; and five grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Harold, she was preceded in death by three brothers.

Memorials may be made to Alva Zion Lutheran Church.
