Lutheran Cemetery


Funeral services for Timothy Bodenschatz will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023, at the Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Timothy Roggow officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. There will be a visitation with family present from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Marshall Funeral Home.

Timothy Daniel Bodenschatz, son of the late Newton Amos and Lorina Magdalena Margaretha (Lohmann) Bodenschatz, was born November 26, 1947, at Alva, Oklahoma, and passed away January 1, 2023, at Alva, at the age of 75 years, 1 month and 5 days.

Tim was raised in Alva and graduated from Alva High School. Tim proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was injured on June 7, 1968, in the Republic of Vietnam. He received a Purple Heart on July 3, 1968. He was honorably discharged in 1970. On August 24, 1968, he was united in marriage to Connie Sue Graves. To this marriage two daughters were born, Jennifer and Tanya. He later married Glenna Mae Hendricks on November 23, 1984. Tim was a dozer operator/truck driver for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Alva Moose Lodge and enjoyed playing poker.

Besides his parents, Newton and Lorina, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Bodenschatz.

He is survived by his long time companion, Glenna Mae Hendricks; his daughters, Jennifer Hess and husband, Scott, of Alva, and Tanya Franklin and husband, Glenn, of Enid; his stepchildren, Connie Foote and husband, Tom, of Alva, Becky McCray and husband, Joe, of Hopeton, and Mike Allen of Cleo Springs; five grandchildren, Rhett Hess of Alva, Riley Hess and wife, Morgan, of Chapin, Illinois, Xavier Franklin, Xcell Franklin, and Xon Franklin, all of Enid; step-grandchildren, Colton Foote and Trevor Foote, both of Alva, Gina McDonald of Fairview, and Tim Allen and wife, Jen, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial contribution may be made through the funeral home to Alva Moose Lodge.
