ENID — The graveside service for Elwin Warren Thornton, 73, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010, in Galena Cemetery. The Rev. David White will officiate. Arrangements are by Wharton Funeral Chapel, Alva.

He was born July 11, 1936, on a farm near Galena to Viva Erma McCulley and Richard Dick Thornton and died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Integris Southwest Medical Center, Oklahoma City.

He attended Twin Oakes Rural Grade School. He was a member of Assembly of God Church.

Surviving are one sister, Alverna Branson of Oklahoma City.

He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
