Ila Louise, daughter of Sadie. (Stewart) and Charles A. Wanger was born near Freedom, OK on January 21, 1928. She passed away at Beadles Nursing Home on the 10th of March, 2018 at the age of 90 years 1 month and 17 days. She graduated from Houston Valley Rural School and attended Freedom High School.
Miss Wanger was married to Harold Knabe on October 13, 1944 at Buffalo, OK. To their marriage two sons and two daughters were born. Following their marriage they lived in Freedom, OK. They moved to Alva, OK in 1959. Mr. Knabe passed away June 6, 1970.
She married “Woody” Wood, May 23, 1972 at El Reno OK. She worked alongside Woody, moving heavy equipment and cared for him and their home for 36 years.
Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her husband “Woody” Wood, son, Jimmy Roger Knabe, her mother and father, daughter Rene Kasparek, sisters: Phyllis Rhodes, Faye Rose, Marilyn Bindrum, Ludella Spurlock and Betty Trekell, and a grandson Jay Keith Leech.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Knabe and Linda of Alva, OK, a daughter Carolyn Shook and husband James of Gracemont, OK. A special granddaughter Paula Kletke and her special great-granddaughter Darian Carothers both of Alva, OK. Sisters: Linda Olson of Enid, Janice Jamieson and husband Darrel of Enid, OK. and brothers: Harold Wanger and Max Wanger and wife Janet all of Alva, OK. Also, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
