The graveside service for LeOna Mae Bradt, 78, of Buffalo, formerly of Freedom, will be 2 p.m. in Freedom Cemetery. Arrange-ments are by Wharton Funeral Chapel, Alva.
She was born May 18, 1931, in Freedom to Mary Robinson and Leonard Sample and died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at Grace Living Center, Buffalo.
She attended Freedom schools, graduating from Freedom High School in 1949.
She married Loyd Bradt Aug. 15, 1949, in Perryton, Texas. They made their home in Freedom before moving to Selman in 1952, where they farmed and ranched. They returned to Freedom in May 1962, where they operated the Cattleman’s Café and she babysat children. She also worked as a contract mail carrier for 17 years. He died Feb. 18, 2002.
Surviving are one daughter, LuDella Fells of Alva; two sons, LeRoy of Buffalo and LesLee of Alva; one sister, Ida Howland of Freedom; one brother, Larry Sample of Enunclaw, Wash; 12 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Loyd, she was preceded in death by one daughter and one grandson.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Leona Fund.
