Freedom Cemetery


Funeral services for Phillip Lloyd Schultz were held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2017, at the Alva Church of God with Pastor Bob Brown officiating. Interment followed in the Freedom Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Phillip Lloyd Schultz, son of the late Ben and Edith (Parker) Schultz, was born October 25, 1933, at Coldwater, Kansas, and passed away January 27, 2017, at Alva, Oklahoma, at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 2 days.

Phillip attended Mound Ridge Country School before graduating from Freedom High School with the Class of 1951. On January 20, 1952, he was united in marriage to Carol Jo McCammon at Freedom. They made their home in the Lookout Community where they ranched. In 2008, they moved to their home near Alva.

He was a member of the Alva Church of God. He loved ranching and worked hard at it almost all of his life.

Phillip is survived by his wife, Carol Jo, of Alva; three daughters, Lynette Morris and husband, Walt, of Enid, Kay Scates and husband, Mike, of Valley Center, Kansas, and Jo Ann Isenbart and husband, Ron, of Alva; one sister, Phyllis Sherman of Bucklin, Kansas; four granddaughters, Mika Scates of Enid, Kyla Hinton of Lawrence, Kansas, Amanda Hughes and husband, Tyler, of Weatherford, and Julie Isenbart and fiancé, Simon Kirkham, of Alva; and three great grandchildren, Dexter and Nolan Hinton, and William Hughes; one sister-in-law, Dixie Stansberry and husband, Bruce of Freedom; other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Alva Church of God Missions or Cal Farley Boys Ranch.
