Avard Cemetery


William "Bill" Grady Dupree, 79, of Amarillo, died Monday, September 26, 2005 in Amarillo. A service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Eastridge Baptist Church, 1200 Evergreen, with Rev. Mike Eker, pastor, Dr. James Rankin of Dallas, and Dr. Jim Braswell of Odessa, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

A service will also be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Wharton Funeral Chapel in Alva with Dr. John Hellstern, officiating, and a concluding interment at Avard Cemetery. Arrangements in Alva are by Wharton Funeral Home, 1302 Oklahoma Blvd.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Lottie Dupree, and a niece Kimberly Elliott.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn; one sister, Charlotte Dupree of Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters Charlotte Rogowski and husband Rick, Teresa Callaway and husband Kirby all of Amarillo, and D'Anne Park and husband John of New York City; four step-children, Lei Ann Lohmann of Alva, Kirk Hilbig and wife Kim of Tulsa, Dr. Douglas Hilbig and wife Penny of Lakin, Kan.; and Ryan Witchey and wife Jill of Stillwater.

Bill also leaves three grandchildren and five step-grandchildren, Julie Dabney and husband Dr. Brandon, Amy Worsham and husband Jeff, Hunter Callaway, Ross Zollinger, Brock and Shelby Hilbig, Maggie and Zane Hilbig; two nieces, Toni Black of Albuquerque, N.M. and Tanya Steele of Denver, Colo.; as well as many wonderful neighbors and friends.

A family visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Chapel in Amarillo and 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Wharton Funeral Chapel of Alva.

The family suggests memorials be sent to Eastridge Children's ministry, 1300 Evergreen, Amarillo, TX, 79107.
