The funeral for Norman Denzil “Nan-Nan” Yadon, 93, of Waynoka, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Waynoka First Baptist Church. The Rev. David Shaw will officiate. Burial will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home, Waynoka LLC. He will be at Marshall Funeral Home in Alva today, then at Marshall Funeral Home in Waynoka Thursday morning until 12:30 p.m. Friday.
He was born May 23, 1913, in Meade County, Kan., to John Vernon and Mabel Ethel Glover Yadon and died Monday, April 9, 2007, at his home.
He attended school in Rolla, Kan.
He married Mildred M. “Darcy” Tubbs Nov. 10, 1932, in Richfield, Kan. They owned a cream station and sold milk, cream and produce. They also were involved in the poultry business.
They lived in Thomas before moving to Seiling in 1947 and Alva in 1949. He lived most of his life in Alva and Waynoka. After retiring from the milk and poultry business he worked as a motel manager and apartment manager. He was raised a Methodist.
Surviving are one son, Bob Yadon of Waynoka; one daughter, Jo Davison of Alva; one brother, John Yadon of Decatur, Ill.; two sisters, Martha Johnson of Eugene, Ore., and Veta Gilchrist of Seiling; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Darcy, two brothers and one sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Waynoka EMTs or American Cancer Society.
