Robert Lee, son of Blanche (Crabb) and Floyd Elmer Witchey was born on February 20, 1926 west of Alva on a farm. He passed away at his home on the 16th day of September at the age of 86 years, 6 months and 27 days.

He started school in Farry riding to school in horse and buggy. The family then moved to Alva, where he attended school until his mother passed away, they then moved back to the farm where he graduated from Farry School with the class of 1943.

On November 29, 1945 he joined the United States Army Air Force serving in the Pacific Theater. He was Honorably discharged on June 15, 1947 at Camp Stoneman, California.

On August 17, 1947 he was married to Vada Jean Smithson at her parent’s home west of Alva, and this year celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

To their marriage four children: Shirley Lynn, Bobbie Jean, Tracy Gwyn and William Lee were born.

He attended church at the Town and Country Christian Church.

Mr. Witchey was preceded in death by his daughter, Bobbie Jean Mullins, his parents, three sisters and four brothers.

Bob is survived by his wife, Vada of the Home; two daughters, Shirley and Tracy; a son, William and his wife Kelly; three grandchildren, Shayne, Jessica and her husband John and Brianna; two great grandchildren, Robbie and Molly; a sister, Gail and her husband Bill Wilks; three brothers, Dean, Dale, Earl and his wife Mavis; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Contributions may be made in his memory to the Town and Country Christian Church.
