Wanita Fay was born to Ruth (Williams) and Cleo Campbell at Winchester Township on May 22, 1939. She went to be with her Lord on September 14, 2017, at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was at the age of 78 years, 3 months, 22 days.

Wanita had polio at age five. Her family then moved into Alva, Oklahoma, where she was able to begin school. There she graduated from Alva High School in 1957. Miss Campbell married Harold Wanger on December 23, 1956, at the Barnes Avenue Church of Christ in Alva, Oklahoma. To their marriage of over 60 years, two daughters were born – Freya Sue and Fonda Michelle – and two sons, Paul and John, who were lovingly adopted. Harold and Wanita made their home in Liberal, Kansas, from 1959 to 1964. They then moved to Medicine, Lodge, Kansas, where Harold was an elementary principal and Wanita cared for the home. In the 2000 the couple then moved back to Alva, Oklahoma.

Wanita was preceded in death by both Freya Michelle and Fonda Sue, her parents; a brother, Albert (Bud); and sisters Levona and Janice.

Wanita is survived by her loving husband Harold, of Alva, Oklahoma; son Paul and wife Annette Wanger of Wichita, Kansas; son John and wife Cristina Wanger of Grapevine, Texas; three grandsons, Yosef, Ian and Little John; one granddaughter, Evelina; a brother Rosco and Sherry Campbell, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
