Alva – Pat Treece, 83, died suddenly in a Del Norte, Colorado, hospital Wednesday.
Treece was born June 13, 1891, in Claiborne County, Tennessee. On August 14, 1920, at Higgins, Texas, he was married to Erma Bubottorn. Four years later, they moved to Alva.
He was in the Harrover and Treece Hardware Company during his lifetime.
For the past 42 years he and his wife spent the summers in the South Forks, Colorado. He was a member of the Alva First Presbyterian Church, the Alva Masonic Lodge and the Meyer – Shield American Legion Post. Treece was a veteran of World War I.
He served the city of Alva as Councilman and for two terms as mayor. Five sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife Erma of the home; three sons, Robert of Oklahoma City, Thomas Jr. of South Forks, Colorado, and Dan of Evergreen, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; four great – grandchildren.
Funeral rites will be at 10 AM Monday in the Alva First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Wendell Patterson, pastor, officiating.
Masonic graveside services will be conducted by the Alva Masonic Lodge in the Alva Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Chapel of Alva.
