Graveside services will be held at Alva Municipal Cemetery on Friday, July 28, 2017, at 9 a.m. with Reverend John Clapp, pastor Bible Baptist Church officiating. David Clarence Tidwell was born in Alva, Oklahoma, to Goldie (Hoskins) and Clarence Elmer Tidwell on May 29, 1943. He passed away at his son's home in Enid, Oklahoma, on July 23, 2017, at the age of 74 years, 1 month and 24 days. He attended and graduated Alva High School with the class of 1963. After graduation he worked as a farm hand for many farms around the Alva area. In 1972 he went on harvest from Texas to Nebraska. He went to college in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
David was united in marriage to Wanda Cutler on June 8, 1978, in Stinnett, Texas. He was a truck driver for over 15 years until he had an accident and could not drive anymore. He started working at Northern Oklahoma Resource Center of Enid (NORCE) of Enid, Oklahoma.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one grandson, James Aaron Jones in 2000.
He is survived by his wife Wanda, of Arizona; a daughter, Patty Jones, of Enid; four sons, Richard Tidwell of Dodge City, Kansas; Lance and his wife Sondra Tidwell, of Enid; David Clarence Tidwell Jr. of Shingleton, Michigan; Scott Thomkin of Enid; his precious 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evona Murray of Aline and Rikki Langley of Kingfisher; brother Ivan and wife Mary Tidwell of Tulsa; a number of nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a love fund in care of Wharton Funeral Chapel
