The funeral for Frances L. Sims, 80, will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Dacoma Church of God. Bob Brown, pastor, and the Rev. Earle Metcalf will officiate. Burial will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home, Alva.
She was born June 8, 1926, in Woods County, to John and Edrie Hadley Gatz and died Thursday, July 13, 2006, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.
She married Thomas Henry Sims April 19, 1946, in Alva.
She graduated from Avard High School and attended Northwestern State College. They lived on a farm north Avard before moving to Alva in 1977. She was a member of Dacoma Church of God.
Surviving are two sons, Johnny Sims of Weatherford and Tommy Sims of Amarillo, Texas; one sister, Betty Murray of Topeka, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one son.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Dacoma Church of God or Alva Church of God.
