January 4, 1967 - June 20, 2021Helen Marie Short passed from this world on Monday, June 20, 2021, in the comfort of her home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 54 years. Helen was born January 4, 1967, at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to Mary "Moore" and Otis Boor. She was a 1985 graduate of Maize High School. Helen married Kelly Short on September 23, 2006.
Her greatest pride was working for Boeing Wichita as a mechanic building struts for several different aircraft. She had worked as an administrative assistant in several jobs the last few years as she was working towards her safety degree. Helen truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: chatting with friends and family, baking and spending time with her nieces and nephews. Helen had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.
She is survived by her husband, Kelly; a brother, Otis; sister, Mary and many half siblings and nieces and nephews.
Family and friends and others whose lives Helen touched are invited to the Wharton Funeral Chapel in Alva, from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2021 to reminisce, grieve, support and chat with one another. Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 26, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Alva Municipal Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at http://www.whartonfuneralchapel.com.
In lieu of flowers the family asked that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association through Wharton Funeral Chapel.
