Wanda Eloise Shalloup, 91, daughter of Mary Ann (Icke) and Newton Benjamin Wadkins, was born on May 25, 1913, in the Fairvalley Community east of Freedom. She passed away at the Beadles Nursing Home on Sept. 8, 2004.
Mrs. Shalloup was preceded in death by her two daughters, Eileen Prewitt on March 3, 1995, and Betty Jean Kraft on Dec. 8, 2001; her parents; three sisters, Mildred Wadkins, Agnes Messenger, and Edith Wadkins; and seven brothers, Clifford, Floyd, Woodrow, Newton Carl, Ralph, Slim, and Curly.
Wanda is survived by five grandchildren, Carol Huffman of Flower Mound, Texas, Randy Kraft of Wichita, Kan., Chuck Kraft of Cherokee; Kerry Prewitt, Lutherville, Md., Colin Prewitt, Grapevine, Texas; three great grandsons, Kris Kraft, Kevin Prewitt, and Brant Prewitt; a son-in-law, Dick Kraft of Cherokee; a sister-in-law, Lulu Wadkins of Alva, a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Graveside services will be today, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m. at the Alva Municipal Cemetery with Rev. William Kalfas, pastor, Alva Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Chapel of Alva.
